Doug Schumann
Chief Operations Officer

Doug Schumann has over 25 years of leadership experience and has been instrumental in helping several companies develop world-class services organizations, operationalizing their processes, and preparing them to scale. While he started his career as a high school history teacher and track coach, he pivoted into business getting his start at Andersen Consulting and Accenture where he was trained in project management, change management, performance, and process improvement. Doug’s passion is coaching individuals and working to enable teams and companies to achieve operational excellence.

One of Doug’s core areas of expertise is scaling teams and organizations for rapid growth. He has held senior leadership roles at Origins Healthcare, Picis, Medsphere, Clinicient and EIS Group. Throughout his career he has helped these 5 companies grow from early stage to acquisition and/or prepare for IPO.

  • At SSIMED, now Origins Healthcare, Doug accelerated revenue recognition by reducing implementation timelines by 70%. He also increased customer engagement and improved satisfaction from an average of 3.2 to 4.6 on a five-point scale.

  • At Picis he was responsible for $60M in year-over-year revenue, led a 70+ person field organization and was responsible for implementing all products. In addition, he scaled his team from 4 to 74 in 11 months.

  • In his time at Medsphere, Doug standardized and optimized the implementation methodology, decreasing the implementation timelines by 50% and enabling the transition to Strategic Integrator (SI) partner led implementations.

  • At Clinicient, he was responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of client success. He led the client executive (account management) organization, customer support and technical support call center, implementations, and professional services. During his time there the company was able to scale their processes and revenue grew by over 300%. WebPT acquired Clinicient in 2022.

  • Currently, Doug serves as SVP Production Operations, EIS Group and has grown the size of his organization from a team of four to nearly 150 employees in less than three years. His team is focused on providing helpdesk support and production support to all EIS customers. In this role he has standardized operations utilizing ITIL standards and has created efficiencies that will enable the organization to scale it’s support exponentially.

Throughout his career Doug has received several awards including the Hartford insurance company’s prestigious Chairman’s Award. He also holds four patents and has presented at numerous conferences.

Doug earned a MA of Education from the University of Connecticut, is PMP Certified, and a Six Sigma Black Belt.
