Lorraine Flint
Co-Director of Earth Systems Modeling

Dr. Lorraine Flint shares in development of Earth Knowledge’s Petascale Digital Twin of the Earth. Earth Knowledge’s System of Systems approach integrates multi-dimensional models integrated to provide the most comprehensive view of risks and opportunities across the globe.

Lorrie has an internationally distinguished career which includes applying biophysical models to characterize and better understand the dynamics of water in landscapes of many scales. Although an elite scientist, she also has critical capabilities to understand the user’s need and paradigm in which they operate and need predictive analytics.

Lorrie’s research has been used to address societally relevant issues from the isolation of high-level radioactive waste to understanding the potential impacts of climate change to ecological systems on four continents. Her current research involves downscaling future climate projections to ecologically relevant scales (1km to 30m) for use into a regional scale hydrologic model to evaluate the hydrologic response to climate change.

Lorraine is a highly distinguished Emeritus Research Hydrologist at the US Geological Survey.
