Marianne Braunstein
SVP Product and Strategy Management

Marianne Braunstein brings over 35 years of experience in product management and information technology, with a focus on industries that care for others including healthcare and Earth Science.  Her passion for end-users and their experiences with products, as well as insights into new market opportunities, forms the foundation for her strategic product planning, execution and success for Earth Knowledge and for all her past companies.  Marianne brings a long track record of outstanding success, having worked for several startups and small ventures helping them achieve market success for acquisition.  She has been VP of Product for Epocrates, athenahealth, WebMD Health Services, and Clinicient.

As the product manager for Logician (Logician and Epic were the two leading ambulatory electronic medical record systems in the 1990s), Marianne assisted MedicaLogic with their IPO and later with the acquisition by General Electric.  She spent over 10 years honing disciplined business skills and processes while at GE, and then joined Epocrates which was and continues to be the #1 medical app on the Apple App Store and Google Play used by over 1 million clinicians worldwide.  She assisted with the acquisition of Epocrates by athenahealth for almost $300M and worked directly with Jonathan Bush as a member of his executive director team.  After athenahealth, she joined WebMD Health Services as the VP of Product, and then retired.  As a consultant, she agreed to assist Clinicient in their search and hiring of a VP of Product but was so enamored with their executive team that she came out of retirement and stepped into the role directly where she helped groom the products and company for its acquisition by WebPT.

Marianne holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in Finance and also in Information Technologies from Santa Clara University, and also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Santa Clara.  She currently lives in Bend, OR where she is constantly reminded of the planet’s beauty and experiences that we are all stewards to protect.
